Fixed operator strategies (2) - 5 June 2005

France Telecom has signed a reselling agreement with Warner Music. FT's subscribers (Internet and mobile) could download ringtones and music. In addition, FT and Warner Music will work together to develop new products and services for fixed and mobile subscribers.

Cukurova (Turkey) could sell 20% stake in Turkcell to Alfa, in spite of former agreement between Turkcell, Cukurova and Teliasonera. Alfa will provide $2.5bn in credits. Teliasonera said it will continue with legal proceedings.

Telekom Austria has purchased Bulgarian mobile-phone operator Mobiltel for $2bn.

Inmarsat is planning to raise $690m in an initial public offering in London. With a $1.5bn debt, Inmarsat expects to reduce its debt to about $850m.
