ATT 3Q06 results

ATT reported strong 3Q06 earnings with a 74% increase to $2.2bn, on revenues of $15.6bn, up from a pre-merger $10.3bn in 3Q05. Operating income came at $2.9bn on a reported basis, with an operating income margin of 18.7%. ATT generated $3.4bn in cash in the quarter.

Wireline revenues were $14.6bn, down 4.9% proforma, of which $ 2.1bn in regional Business (+6.6%), $3.7bn in Regional Consumer (+0.7%), and $4.4bn in Enterprise (down 5.1%). Voice revenues increased 47% to $8.4bn as reported, while data revenues grew 81% to $4.6bn. ATT manages 47m access lines (25.6 retail consumer, 17.2m retail business, 6.9 DSL, and 0.6m DISH).
