We could not imagine that Nokia is not focused on the future mobile network generation. According to the company, 3G technology evolution should be standardized by the end of next year, and Nokia forecasts that its commerial solution should be available in 2009. The solution will be base on Long-Term Evolution (LTE) technology, part of 3GPP Release 8 and is expected to enable data speeds of 100 Mbit/s per second on the downlink and 50 Mbit/s on the uplink. The radio network will use OFDM technology and the core network will be based on packet switching technology.
