JDSU is buying Acterna, a major test-and-measurement company, for $760m.

Alcatel and Intel will collaborate on improving time to market of Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (or AdvancedTCA) platforms for mobile service providers.

The French government is considering defense alliance between Alcatel, Thales and Finmeccanica.
