Alcatel will upgrade the advanced submarine cable network for educational and oceanic research activities of the University of Victoria (Canada), as part of the NEPTUNE project. Alcatel will also upgrade the Mediaset (Italy) transport network with new optical gear. It also has receiveda $40m contract from PT Indosat (Indonesia) to build 1,000 km of optic fiber networks in the country.
