ZTE, Huawei and China International Telecommunication Construction Corporation (CITCC) won the Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation (ETC) contract worth some $2.4bn to upgrade and expand its fixed (fiber optic, lines and broadband) and mobile networks.

Redback announced another customer (Zhejiang Telecom ) in China for its SmartEdge(R) family of multi-service edge routers.

Tellabs won Cingular mobile backhaul contract for its Tellabs 5500 digital cross-connects and Tellabs 8800 routers.

Cisco and OneCommunity will provide Wi-Fi mesh networks in Cleveland.

Nokia provides its DSL solution to Elion (Estonia).
