Telecom Italia is till discussing terms of a deal with Sky Italia, News Corp.'s Italian satellite broadcaster. TI is reorganized into three units: a "utility business” or fixed line unit, a retail business with fixed-client base and the content division, and a mobile arm.

Apple has unveiled an iTV adapter expected to be available in the first quarter of 2007 and sell for $299. The device is connected to a TV and receives wirelessly movies from a personal computer.

RealNetworks will acquire the mobile music and entertainment group WiderThan for $350m.

Wal-Mart plans to launch its own digital video downloading service.

Taiwan Chunghwa Telecom bought a stake in online music service iPeer Multimedia.

Telefonica said it is not interested in TIM Brazil.

Time Warner is selling remaining stake in Time Warner Telecom.
