SingTel (Singapore) wants to buy 60% of Bangladesh telco PBT. SingTel has spent about S$20 billion in recent years to buy stakes in mobile phone companies in India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.

 

Time Warner is mulling a split with its loosing affiliate AOL.

 

Tiscali (Italy) sold its Excite Italia portal to Ask Jeeves for €6m in cash.

 

T-Com (Germany) and Telefonica (Spain) will double ADSL speed for free. It is in line with other telcos' current strategies.

 

Vonage (US) is purchasing access to 911 network from SBC and BellSouth.
