Vendor results - 06/08/06

Alvarion posts 2Q06 revenues of $50m (+7%) with WiMAX products accounting for 1/3.

Extreme reports a loss of $2m as revenue dropped 14% to $82m.

Nortel reported that 2Q06 revenues were up 5% to $2.7bn and net income of $366m (including a $510m gain from the value of the stock paid out in a class action settlement). Strong order growth of 22%, but gross margin was down 5.5 points to 39%.

Siemens registered a good growth in 2Q06 with profits doubling to $1bn, while sales grew 14% to $26.7bn
