Cable MSOs are counting on VoIP, high-speed data and other new digital products to help them generate high annual revenue growth and even higher cash flow growth for the rest of the decade. In Japan, they are starting offering wireless home networking service to residential computer users.

 

Neuf Telecom (France) has introduced its new NeufTV box, allowing easier access to CanalSatDSL and Canal+ Numérique programs, as well as DTT and TPS-ADSL.

 

KT (S. Korea) plans to invest about $200m this year to build its new Wibro broadband wireless network. Commercial launch is scheduled on April 2006.

 

VSNL (India) got licenses and assets of Tyco Telecommunications. It will acquire the 60,000-km undersea fiber system of Tyco that connects Asia, Europe and North America.

 

PTLC (Pakistan) will launch a wireless local loop service in Karachi and offer some 200,000 connections.
