PTT/PoC was a hype two-years ago and all vendors were offering a solution. Operators and end-users, however, did not swallow the bait. The main reason was the lack of interoperability. With the recent final PoC standard from the Open Mobile Alliance, PTT/PoC is expected for a potential comeback. OMA PoC 1.0 works with two other Enabler Release specifications: OMA XDM 1.0 (Document Management Enabler) and OMA Presence Enabler 1.0. The OMA Presence Enabler, however, will only be available in few months, delaying adoption of PTT/PoC further.
