Vendor results 1Q05
Motorola reported record 1Q05 sales at $8.2bn (+10%); earnings of $692m (+48.5%). Motorola generated operating cash flow of $438m in the quarter. Motorola sold 28.5m mobile phones.
Thomson posted 1.89bn revenues in 1Q05, up 15%, of which 527m in Services, 698m in Systems & Equipment, 134m in Technology, and 668m in Displays.
Juniper announced pro forma 1Q05 profit of $75m (up 14%), on revenues of $449m (up 4.5%)
Tellabs reported 1Q05 sales of $436m, up 17% pro forma, and net income of $0.7m. Transport account for $158m in revenues (+16%), access (AFC) for $128m, managed access for $93m (+34%), broadband data for $7m (up 69%), voice quality for $15m (down 34%), and services for $35m, up 11%.

Intel announced Q1 net profit of $2.2bn (up 25%), on revenues of $ 9.4bn (up 17%). Cellphone chip sales were nearly doubling.
Lucent posted 1Q05 revenues of $2.3bn, up 6%, operating income of $275m (down 13%) and net income of $282m, up 62%. Revenues in the
Adtran announced 1Q05 sales of $ 105m (down 8%), net income of $15m (down 25%) and an improved gross margin to 57.6%.

Check Point Software reported 1Q05 revenues of $138m, up 19%, and net income of $74m, up 76%.
Ericsson posted solid first quarter with revenues of $4.56bn (up 12%) and net income of $666m (up 77%). Gross margin increased to 48.5%.
Nokia reported strong quarter with revenues of 7.4bn, up 17%, net profit of 863m, up 18%. Mobile phones accounted for 4.5bn (+11%) and Networks for 1.4bn (+6%). Nokia sold about 54m mobile phone units in the first quarter of 2005, up 20%+.
Amdocs announced $488m in revenues for the quarter (+10%), and net income of $ 74m (+23%).
Avici posted revenues of $ 10.7m (+53%) and almost halfed net loss to $5.6m.
Foundry said its 1Q05 revenues were $85m (down 19%), and net income of $10m (down 50%).
Broadcom reported 1Q05 revenues of $550m, down 4%, and net income of $69m, up 72%.
Scientific Atlanta announced 1Q05 sales of $490m, up 12%, and net earnings of $62m, up 14%.
