Survey: 1bn people access the Internet

According to eMarketer, 250m households had broadband access at the end of 2005, and 1bn people had access to the Internet worldwide. 845M people are regularly using the Internet.

Europe accounts for about 23%-24% of internet users and 22% of the world's broadband households. Latam is very far behind with only 7% of internet users, while the US alone account for 17.5% of internet users and have 17.5% of the world's broadband households. APAC has the largest number of internet users with about 31%- 32%, and 40% of the world's broadband households. China alone counts 110m internet users and more than 34m broadband households, rapidly catching with developed countries.
