Universal Studios is the latest mainstream media giant to create a dedicated mobile division to focus on games, ringtones, video clips etc.

KTF (Sth Korea) plans to launch 3G services in 1H07, after an investment of $780m to build its 3G HSDPA network.

Proximus, Movistar and BASE (all in Belgium) are jointly marketing a new search engine (called PlazZza) for mobile Internet.

China Unicom is rumored to be talking with 3 foreign investors to sell a stake in it. KDDI, SK Telecom and Sprint Nextel are the potential suitors.

SFR (France) will launch in 2007 an ADSL offer, backed by its affiliates Neuf Cegetel. The move follows similar announcements from Vodafone and Orange.

French supermarket Auchan will launch MVNO operations in France on SFR network.

O2 (UK) is mulling combining fixed and mobile services in the UK. It is the answer to Vodafone and Orange UK recent announcement to do converged services.

Skype is trying to include its peer-to-peer communications software on mobile devices, specially in hybrid GSM/Wi-Fi handsets.
