Level 3 has agreed to acquire TelCove, for $1.2bn. The deal provides Level 3 with more than 300 LMDS and 39 GHz licenses covering 90% of the U.S. population.

France Telecom is teaming with TPS to launch the first high definition IP TV service in the world. France Telecom currently has 230k IPTV subscribers to its Malign TV service.

T-Online will launch its IPTV service in Germany in August, and in Spain, France in the second half of 2006.
