R&D: a camera incorporated into the screen

Apple has filed a US patent (n°20060007222) for a project to include a film camera into a LCD screen. Sensors will be spread over the screen panel to capture light information that will be used to create images. The more sensors, the best image. Will the US patent agency validate the project? If yes, and if development is successful, it could shake up the image industry.
