Vendor results - 29/04/06

Tellabs posted 1Q06 net income of $52m, up from almost zero, on revenues of $515m, up 18%. The Transport segment reported sales of $214m (+24%), the Broadband unit had sales of $260m (+14%)

Siemens reports net income of €887m, up 14%, on sales growing 21% to €21.5bn. Orders rose 22% to €24.4bn. The COM division reported sales of €3.3bn, up 6%, and a profit of €27m, down 75%.

Alcatel announced 1Q06 net profit of €104m, down 16%, on revenues of €3.1bn, up 18%. The operating profit is up 85% to €198m, while gross margin was at 35% and operational margin at 6.5%.

Microsoft announced an increase of 13% in revenues to $10.9bn, and a net profit of $3bn (+16%). SQL servers and Xbox 360 (+85%) have driven sales in the quarter, but also hit profitability. Its share has declined almost 6% at Wall Street.

Redback (US) posts a loss of $3m on revenues of $58m (+69%).

Optical Communications reports 1Q06 net income of $2.1m (vs loss) on revenues of $18m (+36%).

ECI Telecom announced 1Q06 revenues of $162m, up 11%, and net income of $3.1m.

Harmonic reports 1Q06 net loss of $5.1m (vs income of $1.7m) on revenues of $56m, down from $73m.

Carrier Access (US) posts 1Q06 revenues of $22m, up 49%, and net income of $63,000 (vs loss) .

Fujitsu said its 1Q06 net profit rose 16% to $500m on sales of $13bn, down 1.5%. For its fiscal year (ended March 31), Fujitsu reported net profit of $596m, up 100%, on sales of $42.2bn (almost flat).
