CEE mobile services spending in 2005

IDC reported that the Central and Eastern Europe mobile services market grew 13.5% in 2005 to $15bn, and a further expected 9% this year. This is in line with another prediction from IDC giving a regional CAGR in IT spending of 15% between 2004 and 2009, or with the evolution ( +16%) of mobile subscriptions in the region. However, ARPU is falling as the number of low-spending consumers purchasing mobiles is rising. Poland, Romania and Czech Republic combined accounted for over 61% of activated mobile subscriptions. Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary represented 59% of regional market value.
