In Spain,  ONO and Auna, two local service providers, are again talking merger. The daily Expansion said ONO has made a €2.7bn offer for the cable business of Auna. The combined entity should be able to cover 14 out of 17 regions, and could more effectively compete with Telefonica.

MCI is expanding its hot spot network to about 11,000 sites in 30 countries. 

Telmex is increasing its stake in Brazil’s Net Servicos de Comunicacao SA, a pay-TV company, to almost 37%.

CTC (Chile) will expand its optical transport network to increase the quality of broadband connectivity in southern Chile.

Tiscali confirms talks with Telecom Italia for the sale of  Tiscali France. Decision to be made on March 29^th during the board meeting.
