Teliasonera announces 1Q08 net income of €723m (+9%), EBITDA of €831m (+2.2%), on revenues of €2.6bn (+7.4%). Capex rose by 38% to €346m.

Yahoo reports better-than-expected results with 1Q08 sales of $1.8bn (+9%) and net income of $542m (+282%). But with 72% of sales made in the US, the activity seems too US-centric, in the current context of US economical turmoil.

Google' share jumped 20% in one day to $539.4, its highest since January. The reason is a less dependence on the US market (faltering US economy), foreign business expansion, and increased revenue per click.

China Mobile said it increased its 1Q08 net profit by 37% to $3.4bn, on revenues of $13.3bn, up 20%. Profit is, however, below expectation of $3.6bn.

China Telecom announced 1Q08 earnings of $880m (+0.8%) but lost 3.2m fixed line users to 217m.

China Unicom group posted 1Q08 net profit of $168m (+1.5%) on revenues of $3.6bn (6%). EBITDA was $1.2bn.

Embratel (Brazil) reports 1Q08 net profit of $168m, up 113%, on revenues of $1.4bn, up 5.5%. EBITDA reached $376m, up 22%.

Telefonica O2 (T-O2) posts 1Q08 net profit up 5% to €97m, on revenues of €616m, up 1.5%.

Tele2 announced 1Q08 net profit of €80m, up 149%, on revenues of €1.1bn (+9%). EBITDA rose 13% to €189m.

Zain has announced its 1Q08 net profit of $270m, up 10%, on revenues of $1.7bn (+23%) and EBITDA of $649m (+25%).

MTN (S. Africa) posted a jump of 43% in 2007 revenues to $9.5bn, and an EBITDA of $4.1bn, up 42%.

KDDI (Japan) had an FY 2007 operating profit of $624m, up 16%.

SK Telecom (S. Korea) reports 1Q08 net profit of $385m, down 3%, on revenues of $2.8bn, up 4.6%.

KTF (S. Korea) said its 1Q08 net income fell 73% to $21m, on sales of $2bn, up 18%.

America Movil reports 1Q08 net profit of $1.3bn, down 5.5%, on sales rising 21% to $7.8bn. EBITDA increased 18% to $3.2bn, while EBITDA margin contracted slightly to 41.7%.

DoCoMo announced FY07 net profit rose 7.4% to €3bn, on revenues falling 2% to €29.2bn. The operating profit grew 4.5% to €5bn.

Bharti Airtel (India) reports FY07 net income of $1.7bn (+57%) and 1Q08 net income of $460m (+37%). 1Q08 revenues were $2bn.
