Cutting international roaming fees: Now!

The European Commission targets cutting international roaming fees. In spite of previous (and inefficient) demands on this subject to mobile operators, and opening a web site benchmarking European tariffs, EU want now to act directly on this file, as auto-regulation has failed. A proposal should be available in next days. The situation is effectively serious. International calls are overpriced (they account for 7% of mobile operator revenues) in Europe, and there is a wide diversity in tariffs. A co-ordinated action, led by the European Commission, across all European countries is the only way to find a fair agreement between all countries.
