The EU Commission reports that there were 88m 3G users at the end of 2007, or a penetration of 20%. 50,000 new high-speed broadband Internet connections were added each day in 2007.

Ericsson said there were 180m WCDMA subscribers worldwide , and that number is growing by 6.5m a month.

Spain: 8.15m broadband subscribers at the end of January (+20%) and a penetration of 18%, and almost 50m mobile users and a mobile penetration of 110%.

FT has 1m IPTV subscribers in France.

India added 8.4m new mobile subscribers in February, of which 6m are GSM and 2.2m are CDMA.

Oman had almost 105k broadband internet customers at the end of February.

North Cyprus (TRNC) currently has about 382k mobile users, of which 278k for Turkcell and 104k for Vodafone.

Brazil had 124m mobile users at the end of February.

Personal (Argentina) has about 12.3m mobile subscribers in LATAM, of which 10.7 in Argentina.

MTN (S. Africa) reports 61.4m subscribers (+53%) at the end of 2007 in 21 countries. The split of users by region is:    - 19.3m in South and East Africa (SEA) +23%

- 28m in West and Central Africa (WECA) region +43%

- 14m in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region +186%


Venezuela had 23.8m mobile subs at the end of 2007, and mobile penetration reached 87%.

China Mobile added 8m new customers in February.

Pakistan has reached 80m mobile subscriber base at the end of February.
