Mobiles phones market share and predictions
With about 800m units sold in 2005, up 19%, Strategy Analytics forecasts that the market could grow another 15% in 2006 and pass over 1bn units in 2007. Nokia remains the market leader with about 34%, followed by Motorola, which gained more than 2 points to 18.3% market share. Samsung confirms its third place with about 11.1% (+0.5 point); LG and Sony Ericsson are fifth with 6.6% market share.
