Tellabs reported 2007 revenues of $1.9bn, down 6%, and earnings of $65m, down 67%. 4Q07 financials, however, show some signs of improvement. 4Q07 revenues were up 3% to $469m and earnings were $6m (-78%). Broadband revenues were up 10% to $274m in the quarter and $1bn in 2007. Transport revenues were down 14%, while services revenues were up 26%. Tellabs is implementing a plan to increase profitability and cut costs. 225 employees would be laid off.

STMicroelectronics reports 4Q07 revenues of $2.7bn, up 10%, and a net loss of $477m, vs a profit of $782 last year. For 1Q08, STMicroelectronics a drop of 5% to 11% in revenues vs 4Q07.

Apple announced $9.6bn revenues in 4Q07, up 35%, and a net profit of $1.6bn, up 58%. Apple sold 2.3m Macintosh, 22.1m iPods and 2.3m iPhones in the quarter. In spite of these good results, Apple' share was down 12% after the announcement, over a disappointing financial outlook .

Texas Instruments said its 4Q07 net profit increased 13% to $756m, on revenues of $3.6bn, up 3%.

Qualcomm reported 18% increase in 4Q07 profit to $767m on revenues of $2.4bn, up 20%. Financials are in line with analysts' estimates. Qualcomm' s stock jumped 6.5% to $39.

Broadcom said its 4Q07 net income was $90m, about doubling, on revenues of $1bn, up 11%.

LG Electronics reported about $3bn in 4Q07 handset sales, up 12%, related to the shipment of about 23.7m units, up 40%.
