BSNL and MTNL (both in India) will form a 50/50 joint venture submarine cable company to route their international traffic. The JV will have three submarine systems: one is connecting Tiruchendur in southern Tamil Nadu and Colombo in Sri Lanka, and is ordered to NEC; the two others are Chennai-Singapore and Mumbai-Dubai cable projects.

Korea Telecom will launch IPTV service in 2006 if legal frameworks is put in place before.

CANTV (Venezuela) will offer IPTV service, and has started to deploy a Metro Ethernet network in several cities in the country.
