Alcatel and Tekelec have agreed on a 3-year extension of their OEM agreement. Alcatel will continue to integrate Tekelec' s switching system in its portfolio.

Alcatel is launching a new venture in China, with Shanghai Telecom, focused on the terminal equipment market. Alcatel already holds 40% of China' s ISDN terminal market and 25% of China' s ADSL terminal market.
