Mobile WiMAX

Mobile WiMAX: IEEE announced the approval of the 802.16e standard, the specification that will serve as the basis for mobile WiMAX technology. The new standard will officially be named 802.16-2005. It is an important milestone, because testing by the WiMAX Forum could now proceed and product will follow in about one year. The 802.16-2005 standard allows to maintain a broadband connection even when moving between base stations. Mobile WiMAX will be demonstrated during the Winter Games in Italy next February.
