Google might be close to unveil its Gphone mobile platform, allowing handset vendors to offer Google-powered mobile phones to market by the middle of next year.

TechFaith Wireless (China) has launched Gallic, a Windows-based GSM/CDMA dual mode smartphone.

Samsung is planning to outsource part ( 700k units per month) of its mobile phone production.
