Strategy change in Japan on mobile OS

Confronted with low margin and high competition, Japanese handset makers have stopped working on the development of their proprietary mobile operating systems. Symbian, Windows and Linux OS will fight for local supremacy. According to IDC, Symbian has a 10% market share while Linux got a 26% market share.  Linux is supported by NEC, Panasonic, Fujitsu and Mitsubishi. Sharp and Sony will join the Symbian camp. The real question is the Windows Mobile OS position.
