Vendor results - 30/10/05

Microsoft announced a 24% increase in its 3Q05 profit to $3.1bn on revenues of $9.7bn, up 6%. Its mobile business neared profitability and reported revenues of $74m, up 50%.

Lucent posted earnings of $374m, down 69%, on revenues of $2.43bn, up 1%.

Alcatel said its 3Q05 net income rose 36% to €266m, and its revenues grew 8.8% to €3.3bn. The operating profit increased 8% to € 278m.

NEC reports 6-month (from March to Sept.) net profit down 35% to $142m and sales fell 3% to $19bn.

Fujitsu announced 6-month (from March to Sept.) net profit of $66m (vs profit of $71m a year ago) while sales were down 1.2% to $18.9bn.
