Motorola announced a new ultra-thin RAZR, the RAZR V3x. It also announced two new 3G handsets: the Motorola E1070 and Motorola E770v.

Nokia has produced 200m phone units in China, of which 50% for export. With this achievement, Nokia is the largest mobile handset maker and exporter in China.

TD Tech, a joint venture between Siemens and Huawei, has launched a full series of telecom equipment to support TD-SCDMA standard.

Alcatel announced the creation of Alcatel Mobile Broadcast, a new internal venture dedicated to Mobile TV.

Ericsson claims it has shipped 10m W-CDMA handsets worldwide.

Alcatel signed a deal with Capgemini Telecom & Media to jointly address the MVNO market.
