ECI Telecom has received a $59m network deal from Costa Rica's ICE for an optical backbone network. It will supply Missouri-Based River City Internet Group with its ST200 edge router platform to consolidate switching, routing and subscriber management.

NEC will install a 350-km long submarine fiber cable, in Quingdon, China, for China Netcom.

It will also help Teliasonera manage its IP network and prepare for large-scale move to Ipv6.It has been selected by Fastfiber (NL) to provide a managed services solution for its broadband optical fiber network.

Nortel is delivering a wireless broadband network to Trinidad and Tobago TSTT.

Alcatel will build a WiMAX trial network for NextGenTel (Norway). It has been selected by KPN for upgrading its broadband aggregation networking in order to deliver triple play services across The Netherlands. Ntl (UK) has selected Alcatel for deploying its Metro Ethernet Transport Network.

Draka and BAM will build the first phase of a fiber network for Amsterdam City (NL). Contract estimated to be worth around €25m
