WiFi hotspots
WiFi hotspots: according to Informa, there were currently more than 84,000 hotspots in operation in the world, and they could be more than 100,000 by the end of the year. The number is very far from expectations few years ago, but is a real sign that the market is taking off. APAC is the fastest growing region, but accounts for 27,000 hotspots or 32% market share. Europe is the most important market with 42% market share with 35,000 public access points, while NA has a 26% market share or about 22,000 hotspots.
