Motorola is buying software company Leapstone Systems that provides a unified platform for creating, managing and delivering converged video, voice and data service bundles across multiple networks and devices. Motorola is recording a pre-tax charge of $100m in 2Q07 after it cut its headcount by about 2,100 in 1Q07.

Nokia has upgraded its N800 Internet Tablet, adding Skype, the latest Adobe Flash player and up to 16Mo of storage.
