According to Infonetics, the overall RAN market, including GSM and CDMA markets, fell 6% qoq to $9.5bn in 1Q07, and would grow to $36.8bn in 2010, driven by subscriber demand planned to grow from 2.9bn by the end of this year to over 4bn by 2010. Significant price erosion is drawing down the GSM market, while the CDMA market is expected to pick up. Infonetics expects a rebound in 2Q07 driven by major CDMA deployments in North America and 3G deployments in China. APAC accounts for 42% of all RAN revenues. In the GSM world, Ericsson has increased its lead in the RAN revenues, followed by ALU and Nokia, while in the CDMA world, ALU leads the pack, ahead of Nortel and Motorola.
