A few set of market information released this week:
According to Berg Insight, 52m machines would be connected to mobile networks by 20011 in Europe, growing with a CAGR of almost 44%, from 4.5m machines connected in 2006. Remote meter reading and vehicule telematics would be strong growth drivers.
According to inCode, mobile operators would have no alternative except the “bit pipe” business model. Operators would give up their own brand search and internet portals, and concentrate on providing network access.
Research & Markets predict that the global WiFi market revenues would reach $5.6bn in 2012.
