A few set of market information released this week:

  • According to Buongiorno and M:Metrics, mobile content consumption (except SMS and MMS) tends to be similar in Europe and NA.

  • The Economist Intelligence Unit reports that 80% of industry executives believe voice calls will not be the primary revenue source for communications carriers within six years, while 50% think it will happen within the next four years.

  • According to MEF, 20% of mobile content downloads fail to complete.

  • NPD estimates that the US mobile phone market was worth $8.8bn in 2006 for 143m units sold in the year. Motorola led the market with 33% market share.
