ALU has signed a $6bn, 3-year procurement deal with Verizon Wireless, to further increase the coverage and capacity of its CDMA2000 1xEV-DO RevA network. ALU will also provide IMS solution, microwave equipment and optical and wireless transmission products. ALU continues to be Verizon Wireless' primary network infrastructure supplier.

Telcordia has been selected by Pakistan MNP Database (PMD) to supply mobile number portability Clearinghouse service.

Ericsson got Telemig Celular' s order for the first HSDPA-enabled 3G/WCDMA commercial network in Brazil. It also got two hosted services contracts from SunCom Wireless (USA). T-Mobile Montenegro has awarded it a contract for delivering 2G and 3G equipment. It also got a contract for hosted prepaid wireless service with Cellular One from Dobson Cellular Systems (USA).

Microsoft is selling 10,000 MSTV to Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan).

Siemens won Qtel (Qatar)' s managed services contract for running its 3G network.

Huawei has signed a deal wit Econet Wireless (NZ) to supply a mobile network.
