ZTE (the first) and most other equipment suppliers (Datang, Potevio, Huawei, TD Tech, Nokia and Ericsson) have passed network access tests for their TD-SCDMA equipment in China.

Ericsson is pushing EDGE Evolution to be a sotware upgrade of existing infrastructure, by 2009. EDGE Evolution will boost data speeds to 1 Mbit/s in current GSM networks, enabling mobile broadband services for 2G subscribers.

Motorola has signed a deal with Vonage to build in the VoIP service for a co-branded wireless router, the VT2542.
