T-Com Slovakia is launching IPTV and triple-play services.

DT is looking for a strategic partner to T-System, and does not plan to sell the unit.

Telecom Italia plans to spend about €6.6bn for deploying its new NGN infrastructure (called NGN2) offering 50 Mbit/s access, covering about 1100 cities by 2010 and spanning over 60,000km.

ATT will invest $750m in 2007 in global IP services worldwide.

Thailand will issue WiMAX licences by year-end.

Algérie Telecom will launch WiMAX service in three cities: Algiers, Blida and Boumerdes. The it will launch the service in four more cities.

Towerstream launches eighth fixed WiMAX in Miami, after Chicago, Boston, New York, Seattle, Rhode Island and San Francisco.

Malaysia issue four WIMAX licenses to Green Packet, REDtone, YTL E-Solutions and Asiaspace Dotcom. No major operator (Maxis, DiGi.com or TM) is awarded a license.
