Low-cost PCs

Publié le par Jean Arnal

China is manufacturing a €100 PC. It is not an OLPC (One Laptop per Child) developed by the MIT, but a classic low-cost PC developed for the rural Chinese population. The Tian En GX-2 is manufactured by Sichuan Sinomatic Technology in Chengdu, and includes a 400MHz MIPS processor, 128Mo DRAM, a USB2 port, an Ethernet 10/100 Gbit/s adapter and a SD memory card, a VGA output for the display or TV set. Sinomatic would also manufacture a €200 laptop for Chinese students with a Godson 400MHz processor, a 10” TFT screen and 40Go hard drive.
