DT issued a profit warning due to several concerns on high loss of fixed lines subscribers in Germany, high exchange rate, largely offsetting growth in mobile subscribers both in Germany and the USA, and growth in new DSL sign-ups in Germany. 2007 EBITDA should now decline to €19bn or about 5% from expected figures.

Verizon has reported mixed results in 4Q06. It earned $1bn, down 40%, in 4Q06, on revenues of $22.6bn, +26%. For the year, revenues were $88.1bn, up 27%.

Bharti Airtel (India) reported strong 4Q06 results. Revenues rose 62% to $1.1bn with almost doubling its mobile subscriber base. EBITDA increased 79% to $449m and earnings rose 126% to $323m. 9-mo results include 59% increase in revenues to $2.9bn and EBITDA of $1.2bn (+69%).

LG Telecom (S. Korea) announced a jump of 34% in 4Q06 earnings to $116m, while revenues grew 9% to $1.1bn and operating income 2% to $129m.

Brasil Telecom posted 4Q06 EBITDA of $438m with an EBITDA margin of almost 35%, net revenues of $1268m (+4%). For the year, revenues were $4.8bn, up 2%, and EBITDA was $1.6bn.

NTT DoCoMo reports 9-mo revenues of $30bn, up 0.4%, operating profit of $5.6bn, down 24%, and net profit down 22% to $3.3bn. 3G FOMA subscribers number reached 32.1m or over 61% of its total mobile subscriber base.

NTT reports 9-mo net profit down 14% to $3.4bn, on sales of $65.5bn, flat.
