Nortel will test WiMAX technology with Toshiba in Japan handling system integration and field tests, to support Japan’s National Broadband Connectivity by 2010 program.

Huawei is partnering with BEA systems to accelerate telecom network operators' efforts to adopt IMS-based NGN networks. It is joining OKI to collaborate in the mobile WiMAX business to the telecom carriers in Japan.

Cisco adds more features into its 7600 router, adding a session border controller (SBC) and B-RAS, giving ties to VOIP services and subscriber management.
