Lucent and World Wild Packet have been selected by Sierre-Energie, a power utility and communications service provider in Switzerland, to deploy Ethernet gear over its FTTH network to deploy IPTV services.
Alcatel will deploy its latest high-end router in Cable & Wireless's Next Generation Network (NGN). It will supply Hanaro Telecom (S. Korea) with a Gigabit Passive Optical Networking (GPON) trial in Korea. It has been selected by Globalcom Data Services in Lebanon to deploy a WiMAX trial network, and will expand its WiMAX trial network with ACCA Networks in Japan.
