Vendor results - 24/10/06

Broadcom posted 3Q06 revenues of $903m, up 30%, but lowered its 4Q06 revenues growth forecast to 1%. Broadcom did not provide profit figures as the ongoing investigation into the option grants will delay results.

Redback Networks reported 3Q06 revenues of $71m, up 92%, and net income of $9m, vs loss in 2005.

Freescale announced 3Q06 sales of $1.6bn (up 12%), of which 1/3 in its Wireless and Mobile Solutions segment.

Apple reports a 3Q06 net income of $546m (+27%), on revenues of $4.8bn, up 32%. 8.7m iPods (+35%) and 1.6 MAC computers (+30%) were sold in the quarter.

Juniper reported 3Q06 revenues of $559m, +5%. No earning figures available.

LG (Sth Korea) posted 3Q06 sales of $6.3bn, up 0.5%, an operating profit of $206.5m. Mobile group reported $2.4bn in sales and an operating profit of $102m. LG shipped 16.5m units in the quarter.

Tandberg TV reported 3Q06 revenues of $81m, up 9%, and profit of $9.2m, down 40%, in line with recent profit warning. The outlook seems better in 4Q06 with signs of renewed growth in the IPTV segment, and good order backlog.

Italtel (Italy) announced 9-mo revenues of ?371m (+6%), of which 80% generated in Italy. EBITDA amounted to ?69, down 2%, while net profit was down 65% to ?1.8m.

Zhone Technologies reports 3Q06 revenues of $43m, up 6%, and a net loss of $121m. For 9 months, the company reports revenues of $150m, up 52%, and net loss of $138m.

Tellabs announced 3Q06 revenues of $523m, up 13%, and earned $59m, up 41%. Broadband revenues amounted to $273m, up 3%, of which access fell % to $161m, managed access revenues drop 5% to $80m and data revenues grew 100%+ to $32m. Transport revenues totaled $203m, up 30%; services revenues were $46m, up 6%.
