Nextel Mexico, a NII company, will acquire Mexican wireless provider Cosmofrecuencias for $200m.

Telecom Egypt has secured a further 24% stake in Vodafone Egypt, raising its share to almost 49%.

SFR (France) has bought ADSL and fixed telephony assets of Tele2 France for €353m. SFR takes over 300K ADSL users and more than 3m fixed telephony customers accounting for a €260m turnover.

France Telecom will launch its converged services offer, Unico, in Spain, consolidate its three local brands (Amena, Wanaddo and Uni2) into Orange, and launch quadri-play services. Cost: €1.5bn.

KDDI plans to buy Tokyo Electric Power Tepco's fibre optic network for about $850m.

KPN (NL) has acquired the Enterprise Networks business of Siemens Nederland.
