Mobilink Pakistan announced the launch of its Mobilink Infinity mobile WiMAX service in Pakistan.

Kalimat Telecom (Iraq) is launching Iraq' s first WiMAX network.

Grameenphone (Bangladesh) has reduced the size of its IPO by 50% to $75m.

DoCoMo will pay $2.7bn to buy 26% stake in Tata Teleservices. DoCoMo had previously invested in PLDT (Indonesia), TMI (Bangladesh), U Mobile (Malaysia), KT Freetel (S. Korea). Tata Teleservices plans to deploy a national GSM network across the 22 regions.

BSNL aims to get 100m mobile subscribers by 2010-2011.

MTNL and Aksh Optifibre are deploying an FTTH network to provide HDTV and "multiplay services" to Indian subscribers.

Telstra said it will be unable to build the country's National Broadband Network (NBN) if it is forced to split its structure between the retail and wholesale units. It plans to boost its 3G network to 21Mbit/s before 2009.
