NSN announced it will cut 1800 jobs as part of its current cost-cutting plans (save $2.5bn by end-2009).

Vodafone also announced a $1.5bn cost-cutting plan to deal with ongoing market crisis.

Virgin Media is to cut 2,200 jobs in the UK between 2010 and 2012, as part of its restructuring plans.

Telekom Austria said it plans to cut 1250 jobs, due to domestic fixed line market problems.

BT would cut some 10,000 jobs during the current financial year (ending March), of which some 6000 should be direct staff and 4000 indirect workforce. 4000 jobs have already gone.
