Vodafone will launch a DSL-based internet service in Spain from Oct 8.

Teliasonera expands its presence in Asia with a second PoP in Singapore. Teliasonera has more than 100 PoP across Europe, USA and APAC. It also bought major stakes in Applifone in Cambodia and Spice in Nepal.

FT and SFR-Neuf (both in France) have signed a deal for expediting the deployment of their optical fiber networks in 15 French cities.

Vimpelcom (Russia) is reportedly mulling the possibility of liquidating Golden Telecom as a legal entity. It has received, through its JV GTEL-Mobile, a GSM license in Vietnam.
