First International Telecom (Taiwan) plans to launch its WiMAX service in 08/2008 and targets 40k users in 10 months.

People Telecom (MVNO in Australia) will become a multi network MVNO, reselling its own packages using airtime from Optus, Telstra, Vodafone and M2M.

Idea Cellular (India) buys over 40% of Spice (India) and intends to merge the two companies.

China Unicom will transfer 30,000 base stations and sell another 10,000 ones to China Telecom following the Chinese telecom market re-organization.



Alltel (USA) will upgrade its CDMA network to EV-DO Rev A , and confirms it will switch to LTE technology for a 4G network. Alltel is to be bought by Verizon Wireless that also will deploy LTE.

Televisa (Mexico) will launch triple-play services with about $360m investments.

Virgin Mobile USA is launching an unlimited voice plan for $80 + $10 for unlimited SMS. It will buy Helio from SK Telecom
